Principles of measurement and the features.Each magneto-electrical meter consists of permanent magnet steel and a moving coil with two tractive balance springs.When low current flows through the magnet coil and magnetic field appears,the pointer deflects with the movement of magnet coil.When the torque and the restoring torque keep a balance,the pointer on the moving iron will point to a scale mark,which is the measured value.
The magneto-electrical meters can be merely used for DC measurement.The advantages are high accuracy and sensitivity,low power consumption and the uniform scale,as well as insensitivity to temperature and external magnetic field,while the disadvantage is the low overload capacity.
